The highly anticipated return of Nina Dobrev to "The Vampire Diaries" is almost here, and fans of the long-running show simply cannot wait. It has been two seasons ago since the actress was last seen in the show, and her return is going to definitely be something major.

The first look of Dobrev's return in the series finale has been revealed, Entertainment Weekly said. Elena Gilbert may have been living in a coffin, but apparently, she's not dead. Elena's life was linked to Bonnie, her best friend, and if Bonnie dies, Elena will wake up. So what will happen to Bonnie? Is she not going to have a reunion with Kai? This will also remain to be seen in Friday's episode.

Meanwhile, when viewers saw Elena shutting her eyes in Season 6, many people thought that that's the end of her. Yahoo! TV said that in the show's timeline, that's roughly three years since Elena was last seen.

Kai Parker, the one who cast the spell, is also back on the show, and since he's the one who made it, he would know how to undo it, too. When Dobrev was asked about the first look of her return, the actress said that the nostalgia is insane. She also said that she keeps on getting triggered by moments, like a piece of wardrobe, or a person's voice, a crew member's laugh. "It's like a trip down memory lane," she said. She added that for six years, there have been so many beautiful memories, and she is very glad to be a part of the series.

"The Vampire Diaries'" first official video teaser for the series finale is out, and the series finale will air on March 10 on The CW. The video of Dobrev's return features the actress asking ""What happened?" She then gazes into the trophy display at Mystic Falls High School. "Why am I here right now?"
