Apple's upcoming reality TV series "Planet of the Apps" has a pretty interesting premise: app makers will pitch their iOS ideas to the company to secure $10 million worth of venture capital funding, get some mentorship from experienced app makers, and the chance to have their apps seen and used by millions of iOS users all over the world. While the premise of the show has already been known for a little while now, the latest trailer reveals that the show will include an escalator ride.

At Recode's Code Media conference earlier last Monday, Apple executive Eddy Cue and producer Ben Silverman of Propagate Content revealed that the show will feature an escalator ride, during which app makers will have to pitch and present their apps. At the end of the escalator ride, a panel of celebrity judges will swipe either left or right to determine whether or not they are interested in the proposed apps.

The judges who will be appearing on the show include Will.I.Am, Jessica Alba, and Gwyneth Paltrow. According to a report from CNET, the escalator ride will last for approximately 60 seconds.

Per The Verge, the show is like a combination of "Shark Tank" meets "The Bachelor" meets "Tinder." While having a panel of expert celebrity judges and letting them swipe left or right on their votes Tinder- style may seem a little gimmicky, it is not completely antithetical to the reality TV genre. According to Cue, the show will be premiering sometime this spring and will be available exclusively to Apple Music, the software company's own streaming app.

He also added that there will be no plans to run any ads on the show, but viewers can expect to see a few Apple ads thrown in every once in a while. This is completely understandable since the show is being produced by Apple itself and is basically a show for the company's App Store.
