It might be a long eight months until season 2 of "Stranger Things", but it looks like it will be worth the wait. The 30-second trailer shown during the Super Bowl gives many clues on what fans can expect from 2016's biggest hit series.

The Guardian does comment that one thing missing from the trailer was Joyce Byers, played by Winona Ryder. Many critics hailed her performance of a mother whose child went missing in season 1, and hopefully, she delivers an even better performance for season 2.

Meanwhile, Nerdist News breaks down the significant scenes in the short trailer. One is when the kids are wearing their Ghostbuster costumes. The scene with them on their bikes shows only the boys minus Will. But if you look at the next scene at school, there is actually another person wearing the costume. Because it is unlikely that it is Will or Eleven, the site speculates that it might be Max, a new character in "Stranger Things" season 2.

The trailer also shows Will at the institute being tested by Dr.Owens, played by Paul Reiser. Based on the date in the surveillance video, it will be October 1984. At the end of season 1, Will was seen coughing up a creature that looked like a slug and then seeing the Upside Down. It seems that his extended stay in that place has caused him to see visions of spider-like monsters.

His drawings clearly show these, and his drawings are becoming real, as seen in the trailer. The question is whether these were visions of Will or actual reality. Aside from the enormous monsters, the trailer also shows a red mist that seems to be spreading all over town. This may allude to the Montauk Chronicles, which serves as inspiration for the Netflix series.
