"The Good Place" has finally booked a return trip to NBC. The series has been renewed for its second season with a new thirteen episodes upon its return. It was just on Monday when NBC network officially announced that the comedy series has been renewed and the renewal comes less than two weeks right after the Kristen Bell-Ted Danson comedy had wrapped up its first season.

According to Hollywood Reporter, Mike Schur has always had his imaginative mind in terms of comedy, but what he brought NBC during the first season was really extraordinary. NBC Entertainment President Jennifer Salke also said that they absolutely cannot wait to see where these characters are going. In season 2, they give thanks to Schur and the writers together with the cast for delivering a series which they had taken enormous pride.

During the first season of 13 episodes, the series also had placed 1.9 rating among adults ages 18-49 in live-plus -7 numbers. The series generally has drawn praise from critics while calling it "a comedy unlike anything else on TV right now" during its launching on September. It has also been the second of the first-year series to get a pickup at NBC while joining family drama "This is Us" which was also recently renewed for season 2.

On the other hand, NBC continues to be aggressive with its renewal of the different freshman series. On the heels of the comedy series finale, it has always been a solid viewing gainer, over indexing, and generally has drawn positive audiences reviews, Deadline reported. The series will be executively produced by David Miner, Morgan Sackett, and Drew Goddard.

"The Good Place" has been produced by in-house Universal Television. The comedy series has been the first ordered for the 2016-2017 season which the NBC network ordered straight from August 2015.
