"Daddy's Home 2" finally made an official announcement on its debut airing in theaters this year. They will finally have its release on November 10, 2017, and this will be a follow up to the 2015 hit that will have to bring back Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell as the warring fathers. There are also rumors that are raging that new stars are to take daddy roles which were identified as Mel Gibson and John Lithgow. Further, the film will be directed by Sean Andres as it is also his official comeback behind the camera.

"Daddy's Home 2" is expected to head off against "The Star" which is a Sony animated film, together with "Red Sparrow" which is a Fox thriller from Francis Lawrence, who has been the director of "Hunger Games" series. It will also be against the "Thor: Ragnarok" and "Bad Moms Christmas" in its second-week release on theaters.

Definitely, this is one of the highly competitive times of the year since a lot of studios are making good angles as to which their films will get into multiplexes just in time for the Thanksgiving, Variety reported. The first film of "Daddy's Home 2" was recalled to have a grossed of $204.4 million in its global sales. It was a good hit despite the fact that it was released together with "Star Wars: The Force Awakens". The combination of two good actors like Ferrell and Wahlberg was really a good potential.

As per Vulture, the sequel is expected to add more daddies on the show and reportedly they had the eyes on Gibson and Lithgow. This Gibson's casting will be another step in his path to stardom. This actor hasn't yet appeared on any comedic show since 2011's dark puppet dramedy "The Beaver". On the other hand, Lithgow is also considering the role as American audiences are greedy for more and more daddies of its sequel.
