Prince William and Prince Harry announced through the Kensington Palace press representative that a statue of the late Princess Diana will be erected on the grounds of their home at Kensington Palace. The princes want to celebrate the 20th death anniversary of the Princess of Wales by erecting a Princess Diana statue that will become a frequent reminder of the dead princess' life and works.

According to Royal Central, Prince William and Prince Harry have commissioned the team that will make the statue and they will be raising the funds for it privately. Surely, many will be happy to know this latest news.

The Duke of Cambridge said, "It has been twenty years since our mother's death and the time is right to recognize her positive impact in the UK and around the world with a permanent statue. Our mother touched so many lives. We hope the statue will help all those who visit Kensington Palace to reflect on her life and her legacy." The projected is expected to be finished this year.

On the occasion of her 20th death anniversary, her two sons have planned a series of memorials to celebrate the life of their mother.
