It has been confirmed in previous reports that "Outlander" Season 3 is already in the works. Now, according to rumors, there will be new faces in the upcoming season - includig the highly anticipated Mr Willoughby.

Daily Record reported that the role for Yi Tien Cho, nicknamed Mr Willoughby could go to Gary Young. Young is best known for his role in "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny", and many claim that while "Outlander" was filming in Edinburgh, Young was also seen playing as Mr Willoughby.

Young has also appeared on other popular shows like "The Shannara Chronicles" and the mini-series "Secret City." Although it has been confirmed Mr Willoughby will be included in Season 3, the official "Outlander" Starz Twitter account has yet to confirm if Gary Young will play the role. Fans would have to find out when "Outlander" Season 3 premiers this year. There is no confirmed date yet, but reports say it could be early 2017.

Mr Willoughby is a character that has been a source of controversy. He is a Chinese exile staying in Edinburgh, who ends up living on the docks, stealing food just to survive. Jamie Fraser gives him the nickname of Mr Willoughby, since he finds his real name uncomfortable. Author Diana Gabaldon told Herald Scotland that Mr Willoughby could not seem to make any connections anywhere, until he finally drank himself to death.

Some fans have been vocal about their disinterest in the character, and they hope that Mr. Willoughby would not make an appearance on the show. Some are concerned that the character is being presented in a stereotypical, discriminatory light.  But then again, there are also those fans who hope the series would remain true to the books, and many cited that the characters in a historical novel cannot be held to standards of our current culture.
