Queen Elizabeth II Sapphire Jubilee will be on February 6, 2017. It is another milestone in the life of the longest-reigning monarch. She will mark her 65th anniversary as queen. Will there be a grand celebration? How will the Queen celebrate the occasion?

It will be a low-key and private affair sans the festivities and grand celebrations according to Royal Central. The special day will be spent in the Palace as no engagements were taken by both the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh.

It is not surprising that Queen Elizabeth II will not be celebrating this year. In 2015, when she overtook Queen Victoria as Britain's longest reigning monarch, she did not attend any celebration because she does not want to celebrate death.

On the occasion, she expressed the kind messages sent to her telling everyone that she did not aspire of it. She also said, "Inevitably, a long life can pass by many milestones. My own is no exception."

The Sapphire Jubilee also marks the 65th death anniversary of her father, King George VI. According to the Queen's former Press Secretary Dickie Arbiter, the Queen admitted that her long reign is a result of her father's untimely death.

Her Majesty will be attending a mass on that day and will spend the day reliving the memories of her father. Her constituents hope that when she reaches her Platinum Jubilee in 2022, there will be nationwide festivities. By that time, the Queen will be 96 years old. The Diamond Jubilee was celebrated in 2012 and it was a grand.

Queen Elizabeth II Sapphire Jubilee is a day of thanksgiving for her amazing leadership. The Queen is 90 years old and still performs her queenly duties with strength, delight, and dedication according to Telegraph. Some of the organizations' patronage has been delegated to the younger members of the royal family on the occasion of her 90th birthday. It was aimed to have a smooth transition when Prince Charles takes over the throne.
