Flights are getting more sociable with the latest Cloud SIM app introduced in the market. This app enables passengers to make and take calls on their mobile phone at 35,000 feet.

Airplanes were traditionally one of the few remaining spots where communicating using a mobile phone is not allowed. Airlines have a policy of only allowing mobile phones switched to Flight Mode when boarding a plane, which means that you cannot use the call and text feature of your phone. However, this old policy may soon be obsolete with this latest Cloud SIM app in the market, says Express. Cloud SIM app is the only sim less sim card in the market today.

The Cloud SIM can also be used while traveling abroad and lets users link up to five telephone numbers to their smartphone. At present, Cloud SIM developers are in talks with travel agents across the UK and US to advertise the app as a travel add-on when marketing holiday packages. In addition, Moodie Davitt Report notes that the Cloud SIM app uses VoIP calling technology as well a local access option when Wi-Fi or mobile data allowance is available. This enables calls to be placed through a local number, without using data, Cloud SIM noted.

The Cloud Sim app enables airline passengers to make and receive calls and text messages even while cruising at 35,000ft. The latest app uses planes' in-flight Wi-Fi, available when you fly with airlines such as Emirates, JetBlue and Norwegian. With Cloud Sim, calls to UK mobiles and landlines only costs 1p a minute. Moreover, the latest app allows users to make calls from abroad for a very low rate, thus, removing the hassle of arranging roaming packages prior to travel. Other Cloud Sim features include enabling holidaymakers to convert a tablet into a phone, capable of making and receiving calls and texts.
