Disney World is set to open a new attraction this summer, and it's gonna be huge. In a few months, guests of Disney World Orlando will now be able to traverse the alien world of Pandora, the alien planet featured in the highly successful film, Avatar.

The new attraction is named "Pandora - The World of Avatar", and will be located at Disney World's Animal Kingdom. Since 2014, the entire Disney Management and Director James Cameron have been working hand in hand to perfect the themed attraction that will let their guests feel what it's like to be inside the world of Pandora and the Na'vi.

According to a statement made by Disney, "The entire Pandora - The World of Avatar land is set to open in 2017, and will transport guests to a visually stunning world complete with floating mountains and bioluminescent plants. Here, guests will be able to experience two excursions that will truly push adventure to the next level."

"First, the family friendly Na'vi River Journey will send guests down a sacred river hidden within a bioluminescent rainforest. Their journey will end in an unforgettable encounter with a Na'vi Shaman, a figure who has a deep connection to the life force of Pandora. And second, the Avatar Flight of Passage excursion will offer the jaw-dropping experience of riding on a Banshee over the world of Pandora."

Since its early years of construction Disney has been teasing the public with updates on what to look out for in the Avatar theme park. In 2015, Disney released a picture showing a cool carpet that changes colors when stepped on by guests. This is similar to the forest showed at the actual Avatar film.

Aside from the two rides which are the main features of the park, "Pandora - The World of Avatar" will also have a restaurant called "Satu'li Canteen", which will serve themed food from the movie and other Na'vi cultural items. A gift shop will also be featured in the park where guests can buy Avatar-themed souvenirs, science kits and other toys.

In terms of the grand opening of the entire park, Disney has yet to release an official announcement on the official date, but they said it will be sometime this summer 2017. For more updates, check out the Disney Parks blog.
