The release date of Microsoft's "Project Scorpio" is still a mystery and fans are all too eager to know when the software giant is going to make an announcement for it. The Xbox Scorpio was announced at last year's E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo) event, but we have heard nothing about it ever since.

Phil Spencer, the head of Xbox, was asked recently about when fans could expect Scorpio to get a full reveal and if there is a chance they could hear something about the console in June, which is when the next E3 event will be taking place. Unfortunately, not even Microsoft is sure when the highly advanced console is going to be revealed, although they are fully aware that fans want to get more information about it.

"Honestly not sure yet, but I know people want this", Spencer told a fan. A holiday 2017 timetable was announced by Microsoft for the Scorpio's launch, but with development going smoothly and rival consoles already hitting the market, there have been talks of it getting a much earlier release. However, if the Xbox Scorpio gets held back to E3 or much later, then a late release date is likely.

But the good news for gamers is that development on the console is going well, and if things go smoothly planned, then the wait might be worth it. Microsoft made it clear that the Xbox Scorpio is not going to operate like a PC, but it will act as a pure console instead. Spencer confirmed this after a fan speculated that the Scorpio was just a PC made to look like a console.

In an earlier report by the Express, the Xbox One Scorpio will be expected to have a price befitting that of a premium console, so gamers who plan on adding this to their collection will want to start saving up some cash. According to Forbes, the Scorpio is being touted as the most powerful console ever made and will feature 6 teraflops of GPU, and support VR gaming and 4K display.
