The Nintendo Switch is looking great and all, but it would seem like third party support will be scarce sooner or later if the company fails to push the right buttons. This is especially the case with EA as its only game for the upcoming console is "FIFA" unless the platform hits the consumer jackpot.

In a recent report from US Gamer, EA Exec vice president Patrick Soderlund made a crystal clear message regarding the publisher's future involvement with the system. In the recent Nintendo Switch Presentation, nothing but "FIFA" was announced for the upcoming console. Nothing else were announced or hinted.

Soderlund also made some confirmation with his interview with IGN regarding EA's decision to support Nintendo Switch despite what happened with the Wii U. Despite having only one game slated for Nintendo's Switch, he still made it to a point that EA's faith for the Nintendo is still somewhat strong enough to give it another shot.

"We've been with Nintendo for a very long time," Soderlund told IGN, pointing out both EA's history with Nintendo platforms and his own. "I'm a Nintendo fanboy since I grew up. Nintendo is the reason I got into gaming."

Soderlund also explained the reason behind choosing "FIFA" as the game for testing out the waters. The game happens to be one of the company's biggest franchise, which is practically available on all markets and pretty much all possible platforms including mobile ones like iOS and Android.

However, by the look of things, EA's support for the Nintendo Switch will heavily rely on how well, both the game and the console itself will be performing in terms of sale and overall success. Wii U only had four games namely "FIFA 13," "Mass Effect 3," "NFL 13" and "Need for Speed: Most Wanted." and this was caused by underperformance in the market.
