"Game Of Thrones" fans had been waiting for the release of "The Winds Of Winter" which is the sixth installment of George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire series. While there had been rumors about its release, this time, the author made an update about the book.

A fan of the series commented on his Live Journal post complaining about the long time gap between his novels. The fan was asking for an update about the series which he calls as the "best fantasy series out there." With that, Martin responded to the comment which immediately made rounds on the internet.

"Not done yet, but I've made progress. But not as much as I hoped a year ago when I thought to be done by now," Martin said, "I think it will be out this year. (But hey, I thought the same thing last year)."

His response hinted that it is possible for "The Winds Of Winter" to be out this year. But it is apparent that even Martin is skeptical about his claim that the book will be released this 2017. As for fans, this is a good hint knowing that their favorite author is actually working on the book.

Another fan also received a response from Martin when he asked for an update. The author said that there are only two things that can stop people from asking him about WOW which is "(1) my finishing and delivering the book, or (2) a giant asteroid hitting the Earth and destroying human civilization." He added that since he cannot control number two, he is working on number one.

Apparently, the book is currently on the works and will definitely be out soon. One thing is for sure, once the "The Winds Of Winter" is out, fans will be asking for the next book, "A Dream Of Spring."
