Woody Harrelson is now officially a cast of the "Star Wars" Han Solo spin-off. The film's directors were excited to start with the Han Solo movie now that Harrelson is in the cast. They describe the actor as someone with depth and range.

He is slated to play the mentor of the young Han Solo played by Alden Ehrenreich.The role of Lando Calrissian goes to Golden Globes 2017 winner Donald Glover. According to BBC, Emilia Clarke of GOT will also appear in the film. She plays Daenerys Targaryen in the most downloaded show of the year.

Harrelson was the best choice because of his remarkable participation in "Cheers" as Woody Boyd and the Hunger Games films. "Cheers" was his breakout role that was shown in 1985. Lord Miller who was behind "The Lego Movie" said that his "ability to find both humor and pathos, often in the same role, [was] truly unique".

The original actor who played Han Solo is Harrison Ford who was Princess Leia's love interest. He returned to the franchise in 2015 in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens."

Disney and Lucas Films will go on filming high-caliber movies like "Star Wars," the recently released "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" was a hit. "Star Wars VIII" is also in the making.

Before Harrelson has inked the contract, Christian Bale is also being eyed for the role as per Movieweb.He is behind the successful "Batman and the Dark Knight" and has long been wanted to be in the franchise. The 55-year-old actor is a two-time nominee for the Academy Awards and has won an Emmy Award too.
