Fans were not exactly too pleased with the first of Season 7 of AMC's zombie apocalypse-themed TV drama "The Walking Dead", which featured Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and his gang being physically and psychologically abused by new antagonist Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan). However, the mid-season finale managed to show some signs of promise as Rick and the rest of the group were finally beginning to form a resistance against the baseball bat-wielding villain.

Based on the three new photos that AMC has released to The Insider, it looks like the second half of Season 7 will be pushing through with this plan. The show's second half will not be premiering until February 12, but AMC has already released an official synopsis which they sent to the press. The synopsis pretty much confirms that Rick and his crew are preparing themselves for all-out war against Negan.

"They'll go about building up their numbers by approaching both the Kingdom and the Hilltop, but we'll also see new survivors in 'incredible places' and treachery from people we trust, " AMC states in the synopsis. The last part is pretty interesting because it hints to the possibility of someone within Rick's circle betraying him.

The three photos the network sent out to press are labeled for episode 9 of season 7, so fans can pretty much expect to see all of these scenes in the mid-season premiere. In one of the photos, Rick and his friends can be seen appealing to Gregory in his house at the Hilltop where they will likely ask him to form an alliance with them so they can finally take Negan down once and for all.

Another photo shows Rick, Michonne, Aaron and Tara searching for something in a grassy area. This has led to some speculation that Tara could have broken her promise and revealed some information about the Oceanside group she had previously met. As seen in the first half of the season, the Oceanside women have plenty of weapons and ammo that the group could really use. There is also the possibility that they could be into the mysterious person who has been tracking them all season.

Per the Express, Sasha Williams could be the next person in the group to meet her end as actress Sonequa Martin-Green has already been cast to play one of the lead roles in Netflix's "Star Trek: Discovery." Chandler Riggs' character, Carl Grimes, has also been speculated to be killed off on the show pretty soon as his contract with AMC expired last year and he is preparing to go to college this year. However, those speculations were squashed by the actor's mother who confirmed in a lengthy post on Facebook that neither college nor his contract will lead to her son's departure from the show.
