Kingston has announced to release the world's largest capacity USB flash drive next month. It will be a 2TB model wherein it has the capacity to store up videos with about 70 hours of 4K kind.

This will be the new Data Travel Ultimate Generation Terabyte which will use the USB 3.1 Gen 1 or USB 3.0 specification. While Kingston already announced the hardware specifications, other information like retail price, the data transfer speed and where consumers will be able to purchase it hasn't yet been unveiled, per Computer World report.

It has been remembered that Kingston in 2013 also released the first 1TB USB drive called Data Traveler HyperX Predator. That was able to sell about more than $1,000 considering the Amazon price. Thus, the upcoming release of the newest flash drive is expected to reach $800 to $900 in retail, according to the Kingston spokesperson.

For those would love to transport large amount of files, the upcoming flash drive is capable of large amount storage even without relying on the hard drives. The new USB 3.1 on top of its storage capacity will also offer the users with high-end designs as it has been made from robust zinc-alloy metal casing to resist from shock, ZD Net reports.

According to Kingston Flash business manager, Jean Wong, they always see to it that they'll push the limits of what is possible. They always empower users to increase their data storage in a more manageable manner. This USB 3.1 has been the follow up of the previous 1TB release way back 2013 but this time doubling the storage capacity.

Kingston is set to release the newest and world's largest capacity USB flash drive by February 2017. However, the company hasn't yet officially announced the price of the device. Further, the thumb drive comes with a five-year warranty and is compatible with Windows 7 and higher, as well as with Mac OS, Linux, and Chrome.
