"Mean Girls" is one of Lindsay Lohan's biggest film to date, and the movie defined a generation.  It's not surprising that the movie's lead star would want to do a sequel.

According to Variety, Lohan made her plans known via a Facebook Live chat with CNN.  During the interview, she expressed her interest in doing a sequel to the movie.

"I have been trying so hard to do a Mean Girls 2. It is not in my hands," Lohan said.  "I know Tina Fey and (producer) Lorne Michaels and all of Paramount are very busy. But I will keep forcing it and pushing it on them until we do it."

Lohan liked her character as Cady Heron so much and she wants to reprise it, EOnline reported, and as a matter of fact, she already wrote a treatment for it.  The actress said she would like Jamie Lee Curtis and Jimmy Fallon in the movie.

This is not the first time that the actress said about pushing for a sequel.  In 2014, the former Disney star - who starred alongside Rachel McAdams, Amanda Seyfried, and Lizzy Caplan - opened about the idea of having "older version where they're all housewives and they're all cheating."

Actually, in 2011, there was already a "Mean Girls 2".  It got aired on ABC family, but only Tim Meadows, who played Mr Duvall in the original movie, reprised his role.

Lohan is not alone in hoping that the movie gets a sequel.  Rachel McAdams also said that she would like to revisit her character as Regina George.   McAdams said that she loved her co-stars and she loved the movie, and that she was "back in it" when they did a reunion for a photo shoot two years ago.  "It was over like that and it wasn't enough.  I was back in it," McAdams said.
