It seems like 2016 just continues to give somber news with deaths all around. Just one day after Carrie Fisher died; her mother Debbie Reynolds suffered the same fate.

As showbiz royalty, and a literal princess in the "Star Wars" franchise, fans keep mourning the loss of Carrie. She died on December 27, 2016 at the age of 60, following her hospitalization due to a heart attack.

Debbie, immortalized by her performance in "Singing in the Rain" along with other films and performances was stricken with grief after Carrie's death. She died one day after the death of her daughter.

Carrie's brother Todd Fisher remarked that Debbie simply wanted to be with Carrie. "She said, 'I want to be with Carrie,'" he said as mentioned in an article from The Hollywood Reporter.

Losing two iconic actresses is one thing, but the tragedy of a mother dying mere hours after her daughter is sad story altogether. Though tragic, the event speaks of the amount of love and respect shared between the two.

Todd mentioned that no date has been set for the funeral service, but it will be private. He also mentioned that a joint funeral would be appropriate, and both Carrie and Debbie would be buried together.

In a Los Angeles Times article, Todd mentioned that the funeral will be interned at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Hollywood Hills. Todd has been thinking of a public memorial service, but has not finalized it yet.

"She literally spent her life caring after Carrie," as Todd recalls when talking about the relationship between his mother and his sister. Though the loss is tragic, Todd feels the love between them and considers it a very beautiful love story to witness.

The year is about to end, and has so many tragedies. The deaths of Carrie and Debbie are just a fraction of the tragedies, and everybody's hoping for a happier 2017.
