The year 2016 was a big year for Microsoft as the company had a rich selection of games for the Xbox One. Sony's PlayStation 4 also had a strong line up, but 2017 could Xbox One's year and possibly even for its upcoming Project Scorpio. Here are the confirmed exclusives for Microsoft's console that fans can look forward to.

As recently posted by Twinfinite, one of the most obvious titles to sell Microsoft's system is "Halo Wars 2." It is the direct sequel to the spinoff title that puts players high above the battlefield and have them issuing commands instead of just controlling Master Chief.

The first "Halo Wars" on the 360 was a shining example that RTS games can still work wonderfully even with the absence of a computer keyboard and a mouse. The sequel aims to follow its predecessor's traits and 343 Studios made sure to pump the experience into more epic levels.

Another Xbox One exclusive to come out in the first quarter of 2017 is "The Wild Eight." The game plays out like the usual open-world game and it adds the element of multiplayer, where players team up to survive after a plane crash.

"Scalebound" is also bound to be released in 2017 as an exclusive Xbox One title, though it is also scheduled to be made available via Microsoft's "Play Anywhere" service. This, in turn, will let both owners of Xbox One and PCs running on Windows 10 experience the adventures of Drew and his trusty dragon called Thuban.

The Sixth Axis also highlighted a number of sequels to the games that have originally came out for the Xbox 360 and PC. This includes the the open-world zombie survival game called "State of Decay 2." The upcoming sequel features highly upgraded visuals and a new multiplayer mode that allows three players to team up.

Finally, there's the game "Cuphead." The 1930s' style animation caught everybody in the recent E3 event by surprise as the gameplay feels almost too unreal. After a couple of delays that started off from the supposedly 2015 release, "Cuphead" will finally be out this 2017.
