Laptops are made with portability and features in mind. Gaming laptops, however, are on a different league and those looking to get some desktop gaming feel can look at both the Acer Predator 21X, Alienware 17 or the Razer Blade Pro. That is, if budget is not a question.

For those who might have missed it and were too busy ogling at more prominent brands, Acer announced the Predator 21X earlier this year and it is set to be the first ever laptop that would have two NVIDIA GTX 1080 GPUs installed. That's a lot to go on with when compared with more known gaming laptop brands such as the Alienware or Razer.

However, up to this point, there's no release date revealed for the monster laptop from Acer. Consumers and gamers looking for a gaming laptop with a serious punch could still get some face-melting performance from the Razer Blade Pro or the Alienware 17.

Both laptops are powered by an Intel i7 6700 and an 8GB GTX 1080. RAMs for both the Razer and Alienware brand could also go up to 16 GB and this is usually enough even for the most resource demanding games. This, however, is with the exception of huge amount of multitasking and 3D graphic artists on the go.

Both the Alienware 17 and Razer Blade Pro may not have features like the curved screen or the 6-channel speakers that the Predator 21X has, but this video of "The Witcher III: Wild Hunt" running on both the Alienware 17 and Razer Blade Pro at 60 frames per second and on 4K might be good of a proof that these portable wonders mean business in gaming.

Finally, on top of the availability, the Acer Predator 21X might later be priced around $5,000. In summary, this includes two 1080 GTX GPUs, mechanical keyboard, curved display, above average sound quality and a couple of bells and whistles. Still, the Razer Blade Pro and Alienware 17 variants goes somewhere around $2,000 on Amazon.

It is highly subjective to a lot of enthusiasts whether a game running on desired ultra settings and above acceptable framerates are enough. Some would buy an overly priced sports just for the fun and bling and the Acer Predator 21X could be somewhere in between. Otherwise, The Razer Blade Pro and Alienware 17 are contenders worth looking at.
