Italian hacker and security researcher Luca Tedesco promised an iOS 10 / 10.1.1 jailbreak release last week, and he kept his word. This came amid reports that Apple's current operating system is difficult to penetrate. The jailbreak, which is built atop the exploit recently published by Google's Project Zero, is now available for the public and can be downloaded.

Todesco made an announcement on his Twitter account just last week that iPhone users need to be on iOS 10.1.1 to be able to use his jailbreak version. Apple announced previously that they have stopped signing iOS 10.1.1, which means that if you are on iOS 10.2, Todesco's jailbreak won't work for you, but, according to 1redDrop, if you have saved your .shsh2 blobs, then you can go ahead with the jailbreak.

Also, the iOS 10 jailbreak is in beta which means that it may contain bugs and other problems that are yet to be discovered, ValueWalk reported.  For users whose devices are not supported, no need to worry because an update that will widen its support will soon be released.

Luca Todesco's jailbreak, which is called yalu + mach_portal, is now available for iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 6s and iPad Pro. Firmware versions that can be jailbroken with the tool include the iOS 10.1 and iOS 10.1.1 for the iPhone 7. For all versions, prior to iOS 10.2 of the iPhone 6s and iPad Pro are supported.

To be able to download the jailbreak, users need to have iTunes installed on the PC or Mac.  Also, the Touch ID and Passcode must be disabled in the device. Experts stress that the Yalu jailbreak is the first beta iteration, so you can't expect a perfect tool just yet. Also, do not try to install any tweaks or apps via Cydia, as this is a beta jailbreak only meant for developers.
