Niantic will give you more reasons to play this holiday season as Pokemon Go launched several updates and season events that will begin on Christmas Day. Other than seeing Pikachu wearing a Christmas hat, the developer released a couple features for players.

Earlier this month, Pokemon Go took to Facebook regarding their holiday updates, "Trainers, as we race towards 2017, we wanted to take a moment and thank you for your support. We're excited for December because we have a few new experiences and in-game events planned for you before wrapping up the year.

While we cannot share all the details yet, keep an eye out on our social media channels on December 12th for details about the first addition of more Pokémon into Pokémon GO." And it seems like the updates are here.

The festivity will likely bring more chances in hatching Gen 2 Pokemons. On Christmas morn and up to the afternoon of Jan. 3, 2017, PokéStops will award one single-use Incubator each day after a player's first Photo Disc spin.

As announced by Niantic, "As you visit PokéStops during this time period, there will be a greater chance of finding Eggs that hatch Togepi, Pichu, and several other recently found Pokémon, originally discovered in the Johto region." Pikachu will also be hanging around a little longer wearing a festive hat.

Additionally by Dec. 30 to Jan. 8, 2017, the original trio - Squirtle, Bulbasaur and Charmander - and their evolutions will be made more available to the public globally. This means, if you want to catch a Blastoise or Charizard, then come out in your boots and warmers and scour for them in your city.

Lures will also stay longer. Back then, you'll only have 30 minutes for the entire duration. But the holidays are giving you more than that. In fact, this season, you'll be having an hour's worth of lure modules to catch more Pokemons.
