Video game developer Valve has officially released details on the Dota 2 7.00 update. Dota 2 has seen some changes over the years and the latest 7.00 patch is said to be the biggest update yet from the newly added hero, upgraded HUD, tweaked balance for heroes, and entire new mechanics for the game.

It's been more than a decade since Dota 2 has been last updated. As per Polygon, the update was announced during the finals of the Boston Major. The details on the massive update were officially released by Valve itself. First things first, the most exciting part of this update is the release of a new character Monkey King that can attack with his staff and leap from tree to tree. The new hero is packed with its very own Arcana set, new terrain, announcer pack, and even two new Monkey King comics.

Patch 7.00 also makes some big changes to the game overall. The HUD has been totally redesigned from the top bar and minimap, hero control console, and even the shop and courier controls have been totally changed. Gamers also now have choices for each characters perks called the talent tree as you level up.

Valve also solved the gamer's problem of full inventory. In the new update, players now have additional three slots to carry items. But there's a catch, these items are inaccessible and can't be activated. Roshan has been relocated as the map as well has been changed. From his existing spot, Roshan is moved up the river.

There is considerably more to this overhaul, including remodeled heroes (Slardar, Viper, and Enigma), huge balance changes, and different upgrades. All of these are playable on test servers now. With the official launch last Dec. 12, gamers are totally hyped to try and learn the game again. The full details of the 7.00 update are available on the Dota 2 website.
