Rolling Stones' front man Mick Jagger, 73 years old, was on-hand in a New York hospital when his girlfriend Melanie Hamrick gave birth to their son on Thursday. According to a statement of Jagger's representatives in Telegraph, both parents are delighted to see their son and baby and mother are doing well but they requested the media to respect their privacy at this time.

Hamrick, Jagger's girlfriend, is a 29-year-old ballerina who has performed in New York with the American Ballet Theatre. They began dating in 2014 after L'Wren Scott, fashion designer, committed suicide. Scott was Jagger's partner for 13 years.

In June, the news of her pregnancy was announced to the public and the couple were said to be "happy and surprised". Jagger's child with Hamrick will be his eighth, and is said to be 46 younger than Karis Hunt Jagger, his first child. Jagger's second-youngest child Lucas Jagger, whom he had with Luciana Morad, a Brazilian model, was born in 1999. Since then, the legend rock star welcomed five grandchildren. In May 2014, Jagger became a great grandfather when Assisi, Jade's daughter, gave birth to a baby girl. The rock legend, Jagger, already has seven children named James, Georgia, Elizabeth, Jade, Karis, Gabriel and Lucas, who range in age from teenagers to 40s.

In May, his fellow Rolling Stone member Ron Wood became a father again at the age of 68 after Sally Humphreys, his wife, gave birth to twin girls. Wood said he wants to be a hands-on dad, saying that he's looking forward to changing the nappies and everything that goes with it.

Recently, Jagger and his bandmates released "Blue & Lonesome" - the first album of the iconic rock group in 11 years. The album contains 12 set of tracks that include covers of blues songs from Little Walter, Jimmy Reed, Eddie Taylor and more, Billboard reported.
