Donald Trump has once again taken center stage by being named as Time Magazine's Person of the Year. This was after dominating television screens and every front page headline in the country and in the world throughout the campaign period, and even after being elected as the next United States president.

Selection of the Person of the Year is an annual engagement of Time Magazine which aims to recognize the most influential personalities - either for better or for worse. So which of the two categories does Trump belong?

According to Time Magazine's editor-in-chief, Nancy Gibbs, it is contestable. "The challenge for Donald Trump is how profoundly the country disagrees about the answer. It's hard to measure the scale of his disruption. For reminding America that demagoguery feeds on despair and that truth is only as powerful as the trust in those who speak it, for empowering a hidden electorate by mainstreaming its furies and live-streaming its fears, and for framing tomorrow's political culture by demolishing yesterday's, Donald Trump is Time's 2016 person of the year," she said. Regardless, Trump has become one of the most influential personalities, joining Barrack Obama and Hitler in the list.

As read in The Guardian, Trump now faces accusations of Russia having a role in him winning the elections. However, he disregards these comments saying that he does not believe Russia played a hand on it all.

The competition with presidential race rival, Hilary Clinton, did not end in the presidential elections. Nancy admitted that Hilary came a close second to Trump in snatching the Person of the Year recognition. Along with Clinton, Trump also defeated other big names such as singer Beyoncé and Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook.

2016 is indeed the start of Donald Trump's reign in business and in politics. It was in November of this year when Trump was declared the next president of the United States. His inauguration will be held in January 2017.
