What do you get when you modernize a pair of sneakers? You get hip and cool sneaker masks! In an effort to combat the terribly polluted cities of China, artist Zhijun Wang has recently reinvented the most coveted Adidas and Kanye West Yeezy Boost 350 V2 sneakers. The designer has turned them into self-serving smog masks.

Wang, a known marathon runner, became aware of his country's problem while he was jogging one day. He began his environmental effort by recrafting sneakers in 2014. His first piece was a protector from scraps of Nike jacket and Nike Flyknit racer silo shoe.

The next sets were the Air Max 90 Mask and ACRONYM Presto Mask. For his current and trending piece, it is from the orange and grey part of the Adidas Yeezy. It flaunts the "SPLY 350" trade name on both sides. It comes with a special shoe-lacing style. According to Wang, it takes about 5 days for him to conceptualize and reconstruct the shoes into sneaker masks.

Many Yeezy aficionados have desired to buy his masks and several business owner have shown interest to trade. As a matter of fact, a bid of $5,000 was placed on ebay for this creation. Wang's goal is not focused on any of these. Through his chic and handy conceptions, he encourages the citizens to care for the environment. He aspires for a change in his country's grave situation on pollution.

Most citizens wear masks to safeguard their health while commuting. Wang wants to provide as many stylish and useful face kit options as possible to his countrymen. Currently, there are twenty masks to serve the purpose.

What can you say about this stroke of genius that is trailing a fashion statement across the globe? One thing certain is that this environmentally-conscious designer will continue to make trendy and functional protective gears.
