Travel Tips: A Short Guide Through Verona And The Wonders It Offers

Verona is known by many because of the famous Romeo and Juliet by Shakespeare. It was also used as settings of many other plays made by Shakespeare. With its ancient places and unique cuisines, Verona is indeed an interesting place to visit. Besides all the places you know about Verona because of Romeo and Juliet, Select Italy and Standard UK shows that there are more hidden wonders around Verona that you could discover.

Sights You Need To See:

Juliet's balcony- It is popular in Verona. Lots of tourists who come to Verona visit this place. After an extensive renovation, it is now opened for the public. In Juliet's courtyard, you will see tons of love messages written on the walls. According to some, touching the breasts of Juliet's statue will help you find your true love.

The Basilica di San Zeno- It is popular due to its wonderful architectural design. It was also know to be the place where Romeo and Juliet married.

 Castel San Pietro- It is a tower placed on a hill giving a wonderful view of the city. It is one of the best place you could visit when you are in Verona. When you go up in a sunny day, you could see the sun setting and relax.

Food You Need To Taste:

Piazza Bra and Piazza delle Erbe- These piazzas contains many café where you can enjoy light meals while seeing the wonderful architecture of the ancient buildings. Drink appetizers and light finger foods are best paired as you enjoy the café.

Mondodoro- It is a wonderful place where you can eat delicious Italian dishes. When the main dish you ordered is taking long, you will be served with complementary wines and soups. This restaurant have a small menu and the place looks a little modern than other restaurants.

Terrazza Bar Al Ponte- Offering simple food such as gnocchi with bacon and rosemary or salami and mozzarella sandwiches along with great collections of wines to choose from. It is overlooking Ponte Pierta and it has its history way back in World War II. Verona has many more beautiful attractions that are amazing. It also has more delicious foods you need to try. All in all, besides the popular Romeo and Juliet, Verona is one captivating and traditional place with a lot to boast about.
