People looking to travel to Vietnam go for different reasons. The country boasts unique sights, rich culture, and delicious food. However, one attraction seems to hold the hearts of locals and tourists alike stands out among the rest: coffee.

Vietnamese coffee, with its richness, fragrance, and distinct flavor, has long been a favorite of coffee drinkers around the world. Whether it's mixed with condensed milk, yogurt, egg, fruit, or made into a smoothie, coffee lovers will all agree that Vietnam is home to some of the best coffee in the world.

Each cafe offers its own charm, whether it's in the form of a specialty brew or a breath-taking location. If you're looking for a good cup of Joe in the Land of the Ascending Dragon, we recommend you check out the following places:

FOR THE COFFEE

Trieu Viet Vuong, Hai Ba Trung District, Hanoi

Also known as "Coffee Street", is home to a long line of coffee shops offering everything from family-kept secret brews to hip teenage coffee shop hangouts. This 725 meter long street stands in the center of Hanoi's most populous urban district, Hai Ba Trung.

Lonely Planet recommends one of Hanoi's long-time favorite shops, Cafe Tho. This simple street-side cafe has consistently attracted crowds of locals and tourists alike over the past thirty years.

FOR THE LOCAL EXPERIENCE

Mockingbird Cafe, District 1, Ho Chi Minh

While great coffee may be relatively easy to find in a country with world-famous brews, finding some of the best spots may require a bit of exploring. In the case of the Mockingbird Cafe, the adventure comes in the form of four flights of stairs.

This coffee shop gem, hidden on the fourth floor of a building located in downtown Saigon, is home to a charmingly rustic cafe with a view of the busy financial district. The Mockingbird Cafe specializes in the country's signature iced brown coffee. However, The Culture Trip has also noted that they serve alcoholic beverages.

FOR THE TRAVELLER'S GETAWAY

I.d Cafe, District 1, Ho Chi Minh

Seasoned tourists of Vietnam are bound to tell you about this upscale cafe in the center of booming Ho Chi Minh. The I.d Cafe is surrounded by numerous hotels, so it's easy to see why it has quickly grown to be a tourist favorite.

Featuring earthy decor, a tranquil ambience, and traditional blends of Vietnamese coffee, this cafe is definitely a coffee-lover's relaxing getaway. With a wide variety of baked goods and beverages, it's sure to warm your heart.

FOR THE VIEW

The Hill Station, Muong Hoa, Sapa

The tourism center of northwest Vietnam houses many of the country's picturesque greenery. With the sights and sounds of the tranquil hills, it's the perfect place to relax, be one with nature, and enjoy a delicious cup of Vietnamese Coffee.

At The Hill Station, culinary discovery meets culture and tradition. This restaurant specializes in authentically ethnic Vietnamese food, as well as imported wines, cheeses, and of course, coffee. The true specialty of this spot, though, lies in the breathtaking view of Fansipan Mountain.

It's truly the place to become entranced by the beauty of nature, while enjoying the delicate human touch on its spoils in the form of food or beverage, thus bringing you a truly humbling experience.
