"Naruto Shippuden" will soon end its flashback episodes. Reports suggest that the said episodes are just fillers to prepare for the final episodes of the animated series. The new "Naruto Shippuden" plot after the Boyhood Arc is considered to be epilogues that will focus on the lives of Naruto and Sasuke after their final battle.

The upcoming episodes are said to follow the two "Naruto Shippuden" novels, namely "Shikamaru Hiden" and "Konoha Hiden", and the third installment of "Naruto Shinden" novel, "Sasuke Shinden." The three aforementioned novels are expected to be adapted to animated series in winter this year, Parent Herald reported.

As a result, it is predicted that the next episodes of "Naruto Shippuden" will cover the said novels. The first novel details Shikamaru's life two years after Naruto and Sasuke's fight, while the second will tell the story of beloved characters several months after the said battle. As for the Sasuke-centered book, it will show his advantures after leaving the village.

"Naruto Shippuden's" flashback stories are described to be essential to build up the event of the show's final episodes. However, it looks like fans were not happy with the long period of waiting for the new episodes that will continue the present lives of Naruto and his team. This can be proven by the decline in the ratings of "Naruto Shippuden" in the past weeks.

It can be remembered that "Naruto Shippuden" flashback episodes have started from Episode 481. "Naruto Shippuden" Episode 481 showed the childhood lives of Sasuke and Sakura. It was followed by "Naruto Shippuden" Episode 482 which covered the past lives of Gaara and Shikamaru. The last flashback episode, "Naruto Shippuden" Episode 483, will feature Jiraiya and Kakashi's past. Meanwhile, GameNGuide said that "Naruto Shippuden" episode 483 will air in Japan on November 10.
