People put a different image on their social media accounts, may it be Instagram, Facebook or Twitter among the like. Usually, the pretty and happy versions of them are posted online. This is because no one wants to expose their sadness or the bad sides of them. They save that side of them for real interactions with their friends, family and significant others. With them, they can judge us freely, without us wanting to receive hearts or likes. After all, all of us are just after for that connection. However, what if the time has come when that opportunity is taken away?

Above is basically the reality in Black Mirror's "Nosedive," which is an episode written by Parks and Recreation alums Rashida Jones and Mike Schur. According to Entertainment Weekly, after every interaction, the participating parties rate the other person on a scale of one to five. Those who received scores that are 4 and higher are counted to be in a good spot, while those who get below four are looked down upon.

Lacie (Bryce Dallas Howard), the episode's heroine, begins with a 4.2 and sets on a mission to raise it to 4.5 to get that deal on the luxury apartment she wants.

Vulture narrates that she lands the perfect opportunity to have some social favor from highly rated types after childhood friend Naomi (Alice Eve) invites her to be maid of honor at her approaching wedding. If she was able to perfect the speech, accompanied with a perfectly timed single tear, she will have a fun, exclusive, better life.

Who among us can honestly admit that we haven't felt a little joy upon checking Twitter to see we've got likes and retweets, and afterwards, feeling guilty that something superficial made us feel something? Indeed, we can all identify with Lacie. It definitely feels good to be liked, and that feeling has never been more easily attained by anyone.
