Tyler Hoechlin who's now playing the role of Superman on The CW's "Supergirl" talks about wearing tights and talking flight. This gig is definitely different from his role on MTV's "Teen Wolf."

In his interview with Entertainment Weekly, he explains how important suit is to honor such an iconic role. He notes that while it is important to preserve the character, he still needs to create his own version of Superman rather than just straight up copying other actors who has done the role before.

He also mentioned that he has his own idea of how the superhero should be, as he grew up reading the classic comics. It was a deliberate move on his part to stay away from the usual Superman approach. At the same time, the actor recognizes that every Superman has a different background, and when it comes to his, it comes from a bright and positive place.

When it comes to wearing the famous suit, he was surprised at how difficult it was to wear it. However, after much practice, he finally figured out a technique to wear it stress-free. He adapted a classic surfer guy technique, which requires the person to put a plastic bag over his feet and hands before attempting to put it on.

Compared to Henry Cavill's Superman, Hoechlin's version is more optimistic and hopeful- and this was the intention of the show's director, Greg Berlanti. He told MTV that preferred his superheroes "glistening under the sun," and that the people in Capital City should have no reason to frown except if they drop their ice cream on the sidewalk.

The second season of "Supergirl" is now on The CW, and it is said to be doing just as well story-wise as it was when it was still by CBS. Now that they have an all-new Superman on her side, maybe luck will finally be on the show's side.

Here's a teaser for the second episode:
