According to the latest poll by sunshine.co.uk, popular erotic novel trilogy "50 Shades of Grey"  has topped the list of books that will be read by female holidaymakers this summer.

Around 1,038 adult women from the UK voted for the poll, each of whom had either been on holiday abroad since May or planned to go before the end of September.

Respondents were questioned regarding books they loved to read while on trips and the result of the poll revealed that 89 percent of the women polled said they had read or were planning to read "50 Shades of Grey" on holiday.

According to the poll, the most popular holiday reads by female Britons abroad this year are as follows:

1. 50 Shades Trilogy (one or all), E.L. James 38%

2. The Hunger Games (one or all), Suzanna Collins 29%

3. Twilight Saga (one or all), Stephanie Meyer 16%

4. Sweet Revenge: The Intimate Life of Simon Cowell, Tom Bower 7%

5. Kill Alex Cross, James Patterson 2%

Reading books was obviously a great stress buster and respondents tended to read an average of three books while on a holiday, as per the answers provided to the poll questions.

Fifty-seven percent said they were more likely to read erotic books while on holiday than at home. Poll takers were also asked if they were more likely to read certain types of books on holiday than they were at home, to which 42 percent said "yes."
