A museum is one of the must-visit and to-go-to destinations for all traveler's across the globe. It gives a glimpse of one's culture, tradition and history. Just by walking through its hallways and immersing on the messages hanging on its wall, you can definitely enjoy yourself and you won't be able to keep track of time.
The website TripAdvisor has been ranking in reviews from its users annually, to find out which exemplary art institutions are the most raved about.

Not to anyone's surprise but as reported by CNN, most institutions awarded the Traveler's Choice for Best Museums in 2016 came from Europe and the Americas. Unfortunately, no appreciation was given to either Asian or African museums.

Still unbeatable for second-time in a row, the Best Museum in the World for 2016 is the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. A wide array of impeccable collections is housed in this architectural masterpiece of its own from ancient to modern artistry.

Built in 1870, the largest museum in the United States and one of the most visited art institutions contain over two million artworks from different time periods. The numerous exhibits will be like a ticket to time-traveling right in the heart of NYC.

According to amNY.com, receiving the accolade was especially gratifying because thousands of people wrote positive feedbacks on how spectacular and wondrous experience they had during their visit at the museum, the Met Director told the site.

Three out of the ten museums were located in North America. Namely, Art Institute of Chicago and National September 11 Memorial Museum in New York City, coming in at second and sixth place, respectively.
The rest on the list are State Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg, Musee d'Orsay in Paris, National Museum of Anthropology in Mexico City, Prado Museum in Madrid, British Museum in London, Acropolis Museum in Athens, and Vasa Museum in Stockholm.
