Idina Menzel, the actress and singer who voices Disney Frozen's Elsa, expressed her support to fans who want Elsa to have a girlfriend for the upcoming sequel of the movie.

During the recently concluded 2016 Billboard Music Awards, the star was asked about her thoughts on the viral Twitter campaign, #GiveElsaAGirlfriend. Said trend started on April 30 from a girl named Alexis Isabel who tweeted asking Disney to give Elsa a girlfriend for "Frozen 2."

“I think it’s great,” she said, according to Huffington Post. “Disney’s just gotta contend with that. I’ll let them figure that out. No matter what, [Elsa] changed my life.”

There had been rumors that the much-anticipated sequel will feature a same-sex relationship revealing that Elsa is lesbian. But Disney did not confirm that yet.

Meanwhile, Kristen Bell, the voice behind Anna, told Collider that the script is nearly done.

“They’ve just written it and they’re still doing tweaks, but I think we should be recording this month,” Bell said. “The story is great, and they exude quality. What I know about that whole team is that they wouldn’t just put something out to put it out. That’s why it took them so long to even announce that we were doing a second one. Generally when you have a first successful movie you want to make a second one. It took them a while because they wanted to figure out what story they needed to tell and what would be important and engaging and I think they found it.”

Currently, the film is still on the works and there is no premiere date for the release yet. Disney did not comment about the Twitter campaign yet but whatever turns out for Elsa, the film will surely be a hit not just for the kids but also for adults as well.
