If you want to see the oval office, you can travel to Washington, DC and take a White House tour, or you could simply head to an airport in southwest Oregon and see one of the meeting rooms there. The Rogue Valley International-Medford Airport has created a replica of the Oval Office out of an empty room in its terminal.

According to MSNBC the oval-shaped room includes decor that airport officials found on the web, The space has drapes, furniture, flooring, and an antique clock. The airport plans to rent out the room for meetings, photo ops, and ceremonies such as weddings.

“We’re in a small community and we operate as a business, without any local tax funds,” said Bern Case, the airport director. “So we hope this Oval Office idea will generate some dollars, add some culture and history to our community and give people something to do.”

Case said 25 local businesses and organizations helped to furnish the room, which includes graphic wall coverings of “doors” and “windows” that lead into private offices and look out onto the White House Rose Garden. The Resolute Desk that's in the room was is a replica that once used for a Shakepeare play performed 15 miles away in Ashland.

“The completed room is pretty close to the original, without being the precise dimensions,” said Case.

Airports Council International - North America, the trade association for North American airports, is not aware of any other airport with a copy of the Oval Office for rent. “But airports continue to look for unique opportunities to enhance non-aeronautical revenue while improving the passenger experience across the United States and Canada,” said Debby McElroy, ACI-NA executive vice president for policy and external affairs.

The airport is charging $75 to rent the fake presidential room for four hours. A 15-minute photo op session will cost $25. The airport is holding anOpen House on July 4, and those who attend while dressed as a current or former president or first lady have a chance to win two round-trip tickets from Medford to Los Angeles.
