Zayn Malik, the controversial former member of One Direction, has decided to break his silence and expose the real reason why he exited the biggest British boy band.

Malik has been consistently making headlines since he left 1D, and there have been a mix of reports on why he allegedly left his bandmates Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne and Niall Horan amid the peak of their group.

This week, Malik's words to One Direction songwriter, Jamie Scott, created a bug buzz because it appears that he didn't depart the group for Little Mix songstress Perrie Edwards.

According to Scott, Malik admitted to him that he was tired of the very busy if not packed schedule of 1D. Zayn recognized that his exhaustion is taking a toll on him. Hence, he quit the band because of this and not merely due to his relationship with Edwards as what previous reports claimed, Mirror UK has learned.

"Zayn went because he'd had enough. Have you ever been on the road for four years? These guys aren't at home," Scott said.

"There is no way the same thing is going to run through all five guys, that they're all going to want to be on the road so much together," the songwriter added.

Apart from clarifying the main reason why Malik left, Scott also insisted that the ex-1D and the remaining members are not at a standoff with their friendly relationship despite the split.

It can be noted that Styles, Payne, Horan and Tomlinson revealed that they were initially "angry" and "disappointed" with Malik's decision but insisted that they are on good terms, reports Beauty World News.

Finally, Scott opined that fans and bashers shouldn't attack Malik for making an excuse of exiting the band to be a "normal 22-year-old" again because he is actually planning on living the simple life.

However, it appears that even Scott's words would be very difficult to believe in given that Malik is already doing a solo venture along with producer Naughty Boy.

Naughty Boy even ended up battling Tomlinson on Twitter when the former announced Malik's solo career right after Zayn's One Direction exit, reports International Business Times.

As of late, there has been no update on the official date of Malik's solo debut or the release of his first album.
