A survey of Australian singles says that travelling increases your sex appeal.

Intrepid Travel sponsored the survey of 880 singletons "down under" and an Australian dating site called RSVP.com conducted it. More than half of the people who responded to the survey believe that people who have wandered extensively are more attractive.

A lot of daters say that the more daring the adventure, the better. In fact, 23% of responders think that adrenaline junkies are the most appealing, and another 22% said they preferred the off-the-beaten-track. The "cultural connoisseur" was the favorite for 16% of responders.

A spokeswoman for Intrepid Travel, Jo Stewart, said, "The attitudes of singles show that a bi-product of travel is that it adds to your sex appeal." She explained the connection between travel and sex appeal a bit more, saying, "Travellers are generally considered curious about the world, open minded and adventurous – all of which are attractive qualities."

It also seems like those who enjoy travel are looking for a someone with an equal sense of wanderlust. Almost all of the survey responders -- 96%, to be exact -- wanted companion who shares their interest in seeing new places. According to an article on the website for The Telegraph, "well-travelled singles on RSVP are overwhelmingly looking for a partner who is also up for exploring the world."

Rather than instead of waiting for a travel buddy, however, the unattached explorers should consider taking a trip solo. After all, 72% of those that answered the questions said they thought of meeting someone special while travelling.

The poll aslo asked about the ideal first date for globe trotters. It seems that 26% of respondents would choose a picnic in Tuscany, while a day of sightseeing in Paris took second place with 19% of the vote.
