Naya Rivera showering statement, or some would say faux pas on Tuesday while guest-hosting "The View," has stirred quite a bit of controversy. The "Glee" actress shocked audience members by making the now viral Naya Rivera showering declaration that showering every day is "a white people thing".

The Naya Rivera showering statement was made by the brunette beauty after white presenter Nicolle Wallace revealed that she sometimes washes "three times a day", according to The Independent. This includes once before her show, once after, and a third time before she goes to bed. The show is filmed in New York and is therefore spared from the devastation drought ongoing in California.

"I have to say I have a theory about showering, [which] is that I think that white people shower a lot more than ethnics," the Naya Rivera showering statement began. "I feel like showering more than once a day or every day is such a white people thing."

After the Naya Rivera showering blunder was out, none of Rivera's fellow co-hosts could believe what they just heard. Rosie O'Donnell even attempted to diffuse comments by pointing out a jaw-dropped African American woman in the audience, who slowly nodded after being asked if she frequently showered.

"Look, there is an African-American woman right there in a yellow shirt that is about to have a heart attack," said O'Donnell.

Rivera tried to explain the now talked about Naya Rivera showering statement. She said that her mother is half-black, half-Puerto Rican and that she showers every day.

"But I can say that I am now married to a white man, and he showers a lot. Like, a lot -- two, three times a day. I'm like, 'What are you doing?'" said Rivera laughing, also making the audience laugh.

Rivera and now husband Ryan Dorsey secretly wed in July 2014.

Realizing that the Naya Rivera showering statement might have rubbed off wrong on some people, the 28-year-old attempted to do damage control.

"A study says, dermatologist say you are only supposed to shower once or twice every three days, so I'm right on the mark," said the singer after being asked how often she showers.

However, despite the dermatologists' reference, Naya Rivera's showering comments did not go over well on Twitter, according to The Huffington Post.

Rivera however, simply brushed off haters with this tweet:

While co-hosting, the brunette beauty mentioned that her siblings were famous too.

"We have a model, a gorgeous model singer celebrity talented person and NFL player," she said.

Mycal Rivera, her brother, is currently in the NFL, while her sister, Nickayla Rivera, is a model.

"Your parents sucked," said O'Donnell.

And to that Naya just answered, "I think they had really good sex."
