The latest Android OS will soon roll out to Motorola devices and the changes are remarkable.

Motorola users will be pleased to know that Moto G phones will finally run on the new Android 5.0.1 Lollipop, according to Latinos Post.

The Lenovo-owned company has planned to release Moto G First Gen and Moto X Second Gen with Google's latest Android operating system to the Google Play Editions in the United States, according to Christian Today. The change log in Moto G read, "This update is necessary to enable a future upgrade of your device to Android 5.0, Lollipop."

The Android Lollipop is speculated to be already out to Moto G users in India, according to NDTV Gadgets. Motorola has reportedly been sending "soak test invites" to Moto G users in the said country, who have taken part of the Motorola Feedback Network. The invite read, "Thanks for joining the Motorola Feedback Network. We are inviting owners of the Moto G in India to participate in an early preview of a new software release and provide feedback."

The Android 5.0.1 Lollipop update has been made available over-the-air (OTA) and links have been provided for smartphone users to test it out.

Meanwhile, the update has already arrived on Verizon and Moto X Second Gen devices. Motorola has released in their statement that the noticeable changes on the update included the new and enhanced Material Design. The format and behavior of the notifications have also been improved, where notifications are ranked by its type and the user who sent it. Users can also set priority and privacy on their notification per application.

The behavior of interruptions can also be managed and personalized. The update also provide a coherent way to switch between tasks.

Android Lollipop has also included a new feature called Ambient Display, which shows notifications using the low-power power Contextual Computing Processor. The device will also start using the new Android Runtime to help optimizing the applications' performance. When the upgrade has been made, the applications in the device will undergo a one-time optimization process.

Motorola has announced that other Motorola devices will get the Lollipop update soon as well.
