One World Trade Center reopens 13 years after the 9/11 terrorist attacks, thereby marking an emotional milestone for New York City and the whole of United States. The reopening of One World Trade Center for business had Conde Nast amongst the first companies moving into the grand skyscraper.

Built on a $3.9 budget, the 104-story skyscraper is now dominating the Manhattan skyline. Publication Conde Nast is reportedly moving into One World Trade Center, America's tallest building, Monday.

One World Trade Center is now considered the centrepiece to the 16-acre site where the twin towers once stood, and where more than 2,700 people died on Sept. 11, 2001.

"The New York City skyline is whole again, as One World Trade Center takes its place in Lower Manhattan," said Patrick Foye, executive director of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey that owns both the building and the World Trade Center site.

One World Trade Center "sets new standards of design, construction, prestige and sustainability; the opening of this iconic building is a major milestone in the transformation of Lower Manhattan into a thriving 24/7 neighborhood," added Foye.

Construction of the 1,776-foot superstructure lasted eight years because of political, financial and legal matters which threatened to ultimately end the project, according to Fox News.

Fortunately, the backbiting eventually died down. Two other towers reportedly began construction on the southeast end of One World Trade Center - now the 4 World Trade Center with Port Authority as anchor tenant, and 3 World Trade Center.

The One World Trade Center is described by tallest building is considered by Conde as "most secure office building in America," now that construction is officially over and the fences gone.

As of the current moment, about 170 of his company's 3,400 employees are first to move in, according to Conde Nast Vice President and Spokeswoman Patricia Rockenwagner. Conde will reportedly be filling five floors of the tower. By early 2015, the company will have about 3,000 employees arriving.

The publishing giants will reportedly filing up five floors of One World Trade Center.

60 percent of the building has already been leased. Another 80,000 square feet is reportedly going to advertising firm "Kids Creative," stadium operator "Legends Hospitality," BMB Group investment adviser, and Servcorp, an executive office provider.

The General Services Administration of the government will be taking up 275,000 square feet, or 25,000 square meters of the building, while the China Center, a trade and cultural facility, will cover 191,000 square feet, or 18,000 square meters of the area.

On the northeast corner of One World Trade Center, the tower overlooks the National September 11 Memorial and Museum, with the aim to honor the deaths during the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

Years following the attacks, the horrible scene where workers tried to look for bodies consisted mostly of body parts. The area where the One World Trade Center now stands has been dubbed "ground zero" of the aerial terror attack.

Now, the One World Trade Center at night has an illuminated spire serving as a guiding light to planes flying over NYC. It is clearly visible from vessels in New York Harbor that are approaching Manhattan.

The fantastic view spans the length of Manhattan to the Statue of Liberty, into New Jersey and Connecticut, and all the way to the Atlantic Ocean, reports the Associated Press.

A One World Trade Center observation deck will reportedly open to the public soon.

Despite reopening of the One World Trade Center being for the spirit of renewal, memories of the horrific act of terror on Sept. 11 cannot be forgotten. The area has amazingly prospered in recent years, and beyond anyone's imagination.

About 60,000 more residents are now living in the area, more people than during the 9/11 attacks. The number of people visiting the area has hence kept streets, restaurants and shops alive even after Wall Street and other offices close for the day.

Still, it's a bittersweet victory, one achieved with the past in mind as the architects created One World Trade Center.

The One World Trade Center high-rise was reportedly built with steel-reinforced concrete. T.J. Gottesdiener of "Skidmore, Owings & Merrill" firm told The Associated Press that his firm even goes beyond the Manhattan's existing building codes to achieve the reopening of the One World Trade Center. "We did it," said Gottesdiener.
