The Charlotte Hornets are currently looking for a big man to boost up their frontline after rookie power forward Noeh Vonleh underwent a surgery to fix a sports hernia, head coach Steve Clifford told Rick Bonnell of Charlotte Observer last Saturday.

The Hornets, considered as one of the teams on the rise for next season, will apparently have one more roster spot up for grabs at training camp as they look to add more beef in the middle.

Clifford said there's an immediate need of a big man capable of producing solid minutes behind starting center Al Jefferson, power forward Cody Zeller, forward Marvin Williams and center Bismack Biyombo.

"Noah (6-8 weeks absence) going down (to injury) means we need to add another big guy. Right now we have four (big) guys who are healthy - Marvin (Williams), Cody (Zeller), Al (Jefferson) and Biz (Bismack Biyombo)," Clifford said of Hornets' lineup problem.

"Some things you can overcome for a few games. But you never want to come up short on size in this league. Very hard to win like that."

Andray Blatche Could Fix Problem

Coming off a successful stint with the Philippine men's national basketball team at the FIBA World Cup in Spain, veteran stalwart Andray Blatche is surprisingly still without a contract at this point of the year.

Blatche, who averaged 11.2 points and 5.3 rebounds per game in a backup role with the Brooklyn Nets last season, is reportedly drawing interest from the Miami Heat and the Nets, though neither team made an effort to lock him up.

The scoring prowess of the 28-year old Blatche could be a welcome addition for the Hornets, who are expected to be one of major contenders along with the Chicago Bulls, Washington Wizards and Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference.

The Michael Jordan-owned franchise made a giant leap in terms of spending cash for talent this offseason, as the opened up the vault to sign borderline All-Star Lance Stephenson and Williams.
