Man steals same Ferrari twice and he has pleaded not guilty to charges against him. Authorities announced on Monday that the Southern California man steals same Ferrari twice after his first steal didn't get him the car.

According to the Associated Press, the man who stole the same black Ferrari was identified as Earnie Steven Hooks of Los Angeles.

Apparently, before the man steals same Ferrari twice, he was initially arrested on Aug. 29 behind the wheel of the car, according to the Riverside Press-Enterprise. Court records show that Hooks has pleaded not guilty to the theft and for charges of resisting police.

According to KTLA, a news release from the Fontana Police Department said the 39-year-old from Studio City was stopped by Fontana Police 50 miles east of LA at a DUI checkpoint late last month.

The incident where the man steals same Ferrari twice was confirmed by authorities as to have begun on Aug. 29. According to the Fontana Police Department, the first theft was confirmed after police discovered that the black 2014 Ferrari 458 Spider that Hooks was driving in the Village of Heritage had been reported stolen.

The AP reports that police said Hooks drove away from the checkpoint and abandoned the Ferrari in the area. The car was later impounded, but it didn't stay there too long.

Department spokesperson Martha Guzman-Hurtado told the New York Daily News of the incident where man steals same Ferrari twice, "Our officers stopped this vehicle and determined it was stolen - this individual fled. Later they found the vehicle abandoned in Fontana."

According to the NY Daily News, about 3 a.m. the next day, someone stole the Ferrari from the impound lot, and apparently, it was Hooks again.

He reportedly broke into the impound lot and the man steals same Ferrari twice, in just two days, said authorities.

Guzman-Hurtado said, "We have our undercover detectives working on this situation. They were able to track him down in Studio City, north of Los Angeles."

He was only arrested after five days when he was found driving the Ferrari in his neighborhood in the Studio City section of Los Angeles, reports the AP.

According to detectives, Hooks even tried to flee when they asked him about the Ferrari on Sept. 4.

"This guy was running and he did not see the officer around the corner who had a gun pointed and ran right into it and fell. It's one of those things you wouldn't believe until you see it," said Guzman-Hurtado.

The officers who arrested Hooks reportedly recorded the entire incident. They later took the suspect into custody and took him to the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga.

Man steals same Ferrari twice therefore the man was charged with a host of charges including theft and unlawful taking or driving of a vehicle, receiving stolen property, burglary and outstanding warrants, reports the NY Daily News.
