Chicago party attack occurred Saturday during an anniversary party where a couple was celebrating their 50 years of marriage together with family and friends.  The bizarre incident of the Chicago party attack led to the injury of almost two dozen people - many of which were children.

According to The Chicago Tribune, authorities said someone sprayed a mace-like substance into the yard where the part was being held. The injured from the Chicago party attack suffered skin irritation.

USA Today reports that the celebration was held outdoors, in Chicago's Gage Park area, and the couple and their guests had no idea what would hit them.

The incident occurred as someone sprayed a mace-like substance into the yard while the party was taking place around 11 p.m.

Police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer said ambulances lined up along the block to treat the 23 injured from the Chicago party attack, many of which were kids.

Fortunately, no one suffered respiratory stress in the Chicago party attack, only mild skin irritation, according to a Chicago Fire Department spokesperson.

Those unable to be treated on the scene of the Chicago party attack were taken to various hospitals including Little Company of Mary Hospital, Holy Cross Hospital, Mount Sinai Hospital, Saint Anthony Hospital and John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County.

According to My Fox Chicago, all of the injured were treated and released from the hospitals overnight.

The wife and her husband could do nothing but sit in the front yard while ambulances held their places and treated the injured.

According to The Chicago Tribune, the couple, married for 50 years, were celebrating with family at a blue, two-story frame home in the city's Gage Park neighborhood, on Rockwell Street just north of 51st Street.

Chicago party attack still had no link to any suspect. According to a report by CBS Chicago, no one is in custody yet. One family member at the scene said it still remains unclear what the motive of the attacker would be for spraying at the guests.
