Ryan Gosling Rachel Mcadms feud on the set of "The Notebook" probably came 10 years too late.  However, Ryan Gosling Rachel Mcadms feud during filming of the monster hit still comes as a shocker mainly because the chemistry of the former lovers was undeniable on screen.

After the blockbuster film "The Notebook" came out, Gosling and McAdams' pair-up seemed to be the work of fairytale writers, on screen and off. Apparently, this wasn't so behind the cameras. Ryan Gosling Rachel Mcadms feud off screen is a whole different story, says the film's director Nick Cassavetes.

Cassavetes finally revealed one of the biggest secrets in Hollywood from the making of "The Notebook." Who would have thought that Ryan Gosling Rachel Mcadms feud was so intense during the shoot that Ryan ended up asking Cassavetes to just kick McAdams off the film.

In a recent interview by VH1, Director Nick Cassavetes revealed the details of Ryan Gosling Rachel Mcadms feud how much the duo hated each other. According to Cassavetes, Gosling wanted to replace Rachel with another actress because the two just couldn't get along. The co-stars apparently didn't know the kind of chemistry they had onscreen.

Gosling, now 33, who played hopeless romantic Noah Calhoun in "The Notebook" literally just asked Cassavetes to find someone else to play his now 35-year-old co-star's character and love-interest, Allie Hamilton.

According to the Daily Mail, the blonde heartthrob even complained that he can't fathom any 'chemistry' with his then 25-year-old redhead co-star.

Cassavetes told VH-1 of the Ryan Gosling Rachel Mcadms feud, 'Maybe I'm not supposed to tell this story, but they were really not getting along one day on set. Really not. Ryan came to me, and there's 150 people standing in this big scene, and he says, "Nick come here." And he's doing a scene with Rachel and he says, "Would you take her out of here and bring in another actress to read off camera with me?"

Obviously, the director was flabbergasted and had no idea that an apparent Ryan Gosling Rachel Mcadms feud was going on during filming. Cassavetes continued with the interview and told the rest of the story of the growing Ryan Gosling Rachel Mcadms feud. Cassavetes detailed, 'I said, "What?" Then he says, "I can't. I can't do it with her. I'm just not getting anything from this."'

As everybody probably already know, "The Notebook" is known as one of the films in Hollywood history where two actors had the most intense chemistry.

Cassavetes probably also knew back then that the film would not be what it is today without the chemistry of Gosling and McAdams because he did not easily give in to Ryan's request.

It's a good thing the director found a way to work around the Ryan Gosling Rachel Mcadms feud and salvaged the film asking his two lead actors to surprisingly - just fight more and let off steam.

Apparently, Director Nick became so desperate to have the Ryan Gosling Rachel Mcadms feud end that he persuaded the two into a spontaneous therapy session.

The "The Notebook" director said, 'We went into a room with a producer, they started screaming and yelling at each other. I walked out ... I smoked a cigarette and everybody came out like, "All right let's do this." And it got better after that, you know? They had it out.'

As it turns out, not only did the session had the co-stars' anger towards each other vented out, but another good thing came from it - the near end of the Ryan Gosling Rachel Mcadms feud. He said, 'I think Ryan respected her for standing up for her character and Rachel was happy to get that out in the open. The rest of the film wasn't smooth sailing, but it was smoother sailing.'

Though the Ryan Gosling Rachel Mcadms feud didn't actually end that way, the pair gradually grew into each other and after the film wrapped up, the two officially  began seeing each other.

The Huffington Post reports that Gosling and McAdams dated on and off years following the filming of "The Notebook" and their unknown feud.

However, the seemingly perfect couple called it quits in 2007. In 2007, Gosling told GQ that the Ryan Gosling Rachel Mcadms feud continued until they were dating and they broke up fighting. Gosling said, 'The only thing I remember is we both went down swingin' and we called it a draw.'

On the same year, Gosling also detailed to The Observer the Ryan Gosling Rachel Mcadms feud. He said, 'We inspired the worst in each other. It was a strange experience, making a love story and not getting along with your co-star in any way. I don't know what happened. Two years later I saw her in New York and we started getting the idea that maybe we were wrong about each other ..."

Gosling has been in a relationship with "The Place Beyond The Pines" co-star Eva Mendes for three years now.

Ryan Gosling Rachel Mcadms feud may have ended with their final breakup, but in late June, Star magazine reported that Gosling still had feelings for his ex. According to the weekly, he did not feel comfortable seeing McAdams getting close with her "Southpaw" co-star Jake Gyllenhaal.
