Emma Watson is definitely not the type of celebrity who would get into trouble. Though indirectly, it so happened that the former "Harry Potter" child star is facing a mess due to her American housekeeper. According to reports, it is highly likely that Emma Watson could be facing a civil penalty which costs £10,000 after claims that the "Noah" actress might have employed her American maid to work in the UK without a permit.

In a report by The Independent, British immigration officials are now reportedly investigating claims that the American housekeeper of Emma Watson could have worked for the 24-year-old star at her £2 million (nearly $3.5 million) London home in the UK illegally.

According to reports, "Bling Ring" beauty Emma Watson allegedly brought her American maid to the U.K. on a tourist visa which ultimately bans the American foreigner from working overseas in the UK. The housekeeper of Emma Watson is reported to have been employed for almost six months in the "Perks of Being A Wallflower" actress' home. Reports say the the maid of Emma Watson worked for her from September 2013 up through early February 2014.

Emma Watson recently graduated English Literature from Brown University in New York, hence started living in the city in 2013. Emma Watson has been travelling back and forth to London to work at a separate residence from September 2013 through February 2014.

According to the British newspaper, questions arose with the housekeeper of Emma Watson as the woman
was stopped by UK immigration. Officials reportedly asked the woman how she plans to pay for her stay in Britain.

Border Agency officials began probing the maid of Emma Watson after they reportedly received a complaint that the maid was paid to aid the actress at her home in Islington, UK and then travelled to London on and off.

Meanwhile, E! News reports that a source at the Home Office told The Independent that they 'wouldn't routinely comment on individual cases.'

Emma Watson is reported to have recently obtained the qualification. Now based in London, Emma Watson is set to attend Prime Minister David Cameron's "Cool Britannia" party at Downing Street. According to reports, Emma Watson could be facing fines of up to £10,000 or $17,000 in USD for her housekeeper as imposed by Home Office chiefs on employers breaching immigration guidelines.

Emma Watson and her rep have yet to comment to The Independent's request for response on the allegations.
