Ian Veneracion is dead. At least that's what the Internet is saying. However the Filipino film and television actor didn't die. He's just the victim of an Internet death hoax. Veneracion is just fine.

Rumors started swirling this week that the actor died after his name started trending on Twitter. Some claimed that he died in a car accident. However it seems that Veneracion's name was just trending because he supposedly opened a Twitter account @OfficialianV.

The Twitter account has not yet been verified, but if it is Ian Veneracion, he tried to put an end to the rumors himself by saying "Please stop this ridiculous rumor! Respect! Salamat!" The Twitter account has more than 7,000 followers even though it just started on June 6.

He also wrote "Akala ko pa naman nag trending ako dahil may twitter ako! Stop na po natin yan!"
Some fans got word of the rumor and didn't realize that it was false, so they took to Twitter to mourn and question the loss. Some examples of those tweets include:

"is Ian Veneracion really dead? OMG NO PLS CRUSH KO YUN"

"is Ian Veneracion really dead? its all over my newsfeed!"

"Is it true, Ian Veneracion died? Srsly?"

"RIP Ian Veneracion ? Really Inspiring Person !!!"

Don't worry fans. Veneracion is just fine.

Veneracion isn't the first celebrity to be killed off by the Internet. Internet death hoaxes have become a big trend over the past few years. Different celebrities are killed off almost every week. Some have been killed off several times like Eddie Murphy,Will Smith, John Cena and The Rock. The death rumors start from various sources. Sometimes they come from fake Twitter account and sometimes articles that appear to be real claim that a celebrity has died but these stories are usually formed from a death hoax generator.
