Boston Globe reports that for National Donut Day 2014, who else but no other than Dunkin' Donuts, will be having a treat for its patrons. The free donuts will be given at Dunkin' Donuts restaurants which are participating in the program, so don't expect to get a treat once you're in one of their stores. Check first with their employees. For the Dunkin' Donuts National Donut Day 2014 participation, customers are treated to a free donut upon purchase of any beverage in the store, well, at least until supplies last.

Meanwhile, Krispy Kreme is also reportedly giving its customers a free donut of any variety for the National Donut Day 2014. For this store however, no purchase will be necessary. However, Connecticut and Puerto Rico are reportedly not included in the promo.

Then there's the American outlets of Canadian donut chain Tim Horton's providing a promo as well for their customers on this National Donut Day 2014. TIME reports that they are offering a free donut with any purchase, and customers have to say, "Happy National Donut Day" in order to grab their freebie.

There is also the chain Shipley Do-Nuts. They currently have more than 250 stores in six Southern states. For National Donut Day 2014, they are reportedly giving away one glazed "do-nut" and one small coffee from 5 a.m. until midnight at participating branches. Of course, there is a limit of one freebie per customer.

Last but not the least is Midwestern chain LaMar's Donuts. For National Donut Day 2014, the chain will be providing one free donut, of any variety with a hole, and there needs to be no purchase at all.

National Donut Day 2014 may be a celebration for the launching of the Salvation Army, but more so than ever, yummy donut treats are much appreciated as well today.
