The talented performer unfailingly wowed the attendees of the 2014 Council of Fashion Designers of America Awards (CFDA) Awards in New York, bearing a see-through gown as she trotted the red carpet.

The extremely see-through attire has made Riri once again, a fashion icon and risk-taker. The dress is a custom fishnet dress filled with a ton of Swarovski crystals.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Rihanna CFDA Awards nude outfit is a custom number made by Adam Selman. It is stunningly overflowing with 216,000 Swarovski crystals. However, though covered with the crystals, the outfit still leaves little to the imagination - in true Rihanna fashion.

According to Hollywood Life, the 26-year-old performer was honored with the 2014 fashion icon award at the "Oscars of fashion." The event on Monday night was located at New York's Lincoln Center. 

Billboard reports that after American Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour gave the award to the Barbadian singer, she said in her acceptance speech, "I can compensate for all of my weaknesses with fashion. Fashion should never be frustrating, it should be fun."

She added, "As long as I can remember, fashion has been my defense mechanism."

It seems the designer is already a favourite of Rihanna's as Selman, the designer who created the Rihanna CFDA Awards nude outfit has been designing costumes for Rihanna since 2011. He reportedly debuted his own line in September 2013 at the  New York Fashion Week. The all-glitter, bejeweled and stunning handmade Rihanna CFDA Awards nude outfit also includes gloves and a head scarf with it.

The outfit is reportedly trying to channel the famous jazz-age dancer, actress and singer Josephine Baker, who has been immortalized through a 1991 HBO biopic which also won an Emmy.

Rihanna CFDA Awards nude outfit certainly suits the brave singer's award. Those attending the CFDA ceremony also included DVF, Jennifer Hudson, Chanel Iman and Blake Lively, among others.
