Valentine's Day 2014: United Airlines Giving Away Free Flights to Those With Flight or Airport Love Stories

Jan 30, 2014 09:49 AM EST

Valentine's Day 2014 is almost here and love is in the air! United Airlines wants to know if you met your better half in flight? Popped the question at 30,000 feet? Cupid's arrow strike you at the airport?  United is looking for your flight and airport-related stories.

United Airlines launched its "Love in the Air" promotion for customers whom United helped connect with a special someone. Customers can enter by submitting their United-in-love story in 500 words or less along with a photo. Those who enter have a chance to win two roundtrip BusinessFirst tickets anywhere United flies.

Couples have until noon CST on Feb. 5 to submit their stories of love. The airlines will announce the winning couple on Valentine's Day, February 14, 2014. To enter, and for complete terms and conditions, customers may visit hub.united.com.

"United flights and airports are full of travelers from every corner of the world. You just never know who you'll meet along your journey," said Sharon Grant, United's vice president of customer contact centers and a member of the employee panel who will judge the contest. "We were inspired by the many couples who've shared their stories with us over the years. They tell us, 'Because of United, I met the love of my life."

If you don't have a United love story, but may know of someone to do, the airline encourages customers to share the promotion with their friends and followers using #unitedinlove on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
