Boeing 787 Dreamliner Turns Around After Toilets Stop Working

The Boeing 787 Dreamliner is supposed to be a dream-come-true for aviation, but the planes have been nothing but trouble since they launched. In the latest Dreamliner drama, a Japan Airline plane was forced to turn around due to problems with the bathrooms.

A Japan Airlines 787 Dreamliner was on its way to Tokyo from Moscow but it had to turn back on Thursday as the lavatory wasn't working.

According to Reuters, a JAL spokesman Takuya Shimoguchi said that six toilets stopped functioning on the plane. The toilets wouldn't flush.  Shimoguchi says it was likely caused by an electronic glitch. He said that the airline was working on repairing the issue on the ground after the flight returned. The flight, which was carrying 141 passengers, left Moscow on Wednesday night and returned after about five hours.

That wasn't the only issue for a Japan Airlines Dreamliner though. The de-icing system also failed on another flight. The 787 flight affected with this problem took off from San Diego and was heading to Tokyo on Wednesday afternoon. When the problem was discovered, the jet returned to San Diego two hours after it departed.

Norwegian Air also took out some Dreamliners due recently as the planes broke down several times. They demanded Boeing to repair the planes and will use alternative aircrafts for their long-haul flights.

Dreamliners have had a series of issues for years now. Several issues have occurred since the first Dreamliner took flight in December 2009. Earlier this year, Dreamliners were grounded across the world due to a battery problem.
